GateHouse Treatment on NHPR 1

Our team at GateHouse Treatment works day in and day out to share the successes our programs offer, especially in areas where those who suffer from addiction need it most. New Hampshire Public Radio’s Crossroad: The NH Opioid Reporting Project has explored the various ways the opiate addiction epidemic has impacted the Granite State. The ultimate goal of this program is to, “give a voice to those who have been directly affected by opioid use,” and gave our Chief Operating Officer, Ed McDonough, the chance to tell his story.

Ed takes the opportunity to discuss his personal experience with addiction and how fortunate he was to find a bed in Massachusetts to focus on his recovery before moving to a sober house in Nashua at our New Hampshire treatment center. He recognizes now, after working with so many people who are new to recovery in this state, that there are limited options for those suffering in New Hampshire.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, New Hampshire had an over 30% increase of opiate-related overdoses from 2014-2015 with 422 deaths reported and 2016 was projected to surpass that total. With these predictions, what is the best way to combat these problems? Many say access to treatment to facilities across the state, and GateHouse Treatment couldn’t agree more.

Finding an all-encompassing addiction treatment center helps those suffering approach their addiction from all angles can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. GateHouse Treatment was created by professionals in long-term recovery. We focus on healing the mind, body, and spirit to provide a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan that was designed for your specific needs.

The team at GateHouse understands the struggles you are going through because we have been there before, we too have been in similar shoes. We used evidence-based modalities to put each participant down a positive path for their future. Whether they require a PHP, OP, IOP, or Sober Living in NH, we are there to help every step of the way.
